unknown new funeral home from obit intake Obituary

Stephen Michael Gentile, born March 2, 1981, passed away on March 26, 2015 at the age of 34. Stephen, a resident of Hoffman Estates, was the son of Richard and Judy Gentile of Hoffman Estates, and brother of David (fiancé Alyssa Gianatasio) of Bartlett.

He attended St. Hubert's Catholic Grade School, where he was active in Boy Scouts and basketball, and Hoffman Estates High School, class of 1999, where he was a student athlete, involved in soccer and basketball. Stephen attended Bradley University, and pursued studies at Harper College. He was the most kind-hearted and loving son and brother, who could light up a room with his comedic wit and infectious smile. He had a true passion for music, movies and cars. A devoted friend, Stephen valued the friendships that he had in his life. But above all, he cherished the time he spent with family.

In addition to his parents, brother, and brother's fiancé, Stephen is survived by his grandmother, Joan Gentile, along with many cousins, aunts, and uncles. He will be fondly remembered, and profoundly missed. We are grateful to have known such a wonderful man, and count ourselves lucky to carry him as a part of us for the rest of our days.

Visitation will be Monday, March 30, 4pm-9pm at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 330 W. Golf Road, Schaumburg. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, March 31, at 10am at Church of the Holy Spirit, 1451 Bode Road, Schaumburg. Interment St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI.org) or Kenneth Young Center, 1001 Rohlwing Road, Elk Grove Village 60007. Funeral information or online condolences
