Chadwick Funeral and Cremation Service, LLC - New London Obituary

Steve was born in Northampton, MA and spent his formative
years in N. Easton, MA, graduating from Oliver Ames High
School in 1967. He received his BBA in Management at U.
Mass, Amherst in 1971.

He worked in sales and was both regional and district manager
for several firms. More recently, in order to travel less, he worked
as a therapist.

Steve loved gardening and his family enjoyed the vegetables from
his garden all year round.

He leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Susan and son, Paul of
Newbury. Steve is the son of Robert Gildersleeve of Chatham, MA
(wife Alice) and Barbara Nielsen of Mansfield, MA. He is the
brother of Robbie of Easton, MA (wife Nancy) and Janet Sabella
of Taunton, MA (spouse Michael). Steve leaves behind eight
nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Adam, and
brother, Allen.

Steve is remembered by family and friends for his heart, easy wit,
strong love of family and love of nature.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Sue, Sorry to hear of Steve's passing.
We sat next to each other in Biology and other classes. He was a real character with a unique personality.
Although I have not seen him since graduation, he remains in my mind as a caring, valuable member of OA 67.
My prayers for Steve, you, & his extended family.
