my sister Denise Salcido was a student of Mr. Gothold. She absolutely loved him as a teacher and choir director. When my sister passed Mr. Gothold was kind enough to speak at her funeral and shared his memories of her, our family was so grateful. He was a special man who offered so much to so many people and students who were fortunate enough to have known him. RIP sir. Frank S.

Steve was a good friend and mentor while I was a Master's student at USC while he was finishing his doctorate in the '70s. What a good human being! Deep condolences to his family.

Gothold was instrumental in establishing a love of choral singing long after my college life. A great talented conductor i am grateful to know & will never forget the joy he gave to so many, so freely.
