Not sure what to say?

Steve was a wonderful kind-hearted person with a dry wit and a positive, can do attitude about life. We met Steve and Hasse and all five children when we moved to Burlington, VT in 1981. I was the new Cantor at Ohavi Zedek Synagogue and Carol Ann, my wife, was an adjunct teacher at UVM. We moved to Vermont with a three week old son, with two additional boys born during our time in Vermont. Steve and Hasse were the god parents for two of our children. When Carol Ann and I first visited...

I knew Steve from a very long time ago, the 1960s. We went to RPI together, he in Chemical Engineering and I in Chemistry. He had an apartment in downtown Troy while I lived in the dorms. His place was bigger than mine but darker. I knew his Mom and his Dad, who was my dentist, and had dinner at their house a number of times. I can remember what Mrs. Halley looked like, she was kind of elegant, but I don't remember what Dr. Halley looked like. What I do recall about him was when he got his...

I was sorry to hear about the Halleys losing Steve, We enjoyed Hasse and Steve and family as neighbors and friends in Jericho long ago. Steve had much expertise and was always willing to lend a hand. They enjoyed sharing dinners in their home with us and others. My thoughts are with the Halley now-adult children.

We are so saddened by this news. We were good friends of the Halley's when we lived in Jericho. We bought our house from them and ever after were invited to many great parties at which ever house Hassie was redoing at the time. We fondly remember Hassie, Steve and the five children. Our most heartfelt sympathy to all of you.

I worked with Steve Halley many many years ago, at IBM. He was such a wonderful man. I learned much from him because he was so generous and kind. My sincere condolences to his family.

We were so sorry to hear about Steve's death. We have fond memories of Steve & Hasse and all of the children when they lived in Underhill, Vt. near us. We knew them when they had the horrible fire which destroyed almost half of their house. They lived there while it was being repaired and then threw a big party when it was "all better." Please take care of yourselves and remember that both of your parents were well loved.
