Not sure what to say?

I was looking for Dr. Hamburger recently & learned of his passing. I was so sad. I was a Hamburger helper at Truman Medical in 85. He even gave me an opportunity to be the Internal Medicine Docent Meeting Secretary. I loved working for him. He was a great boss!

I was Steve's roommate his first year in college at UConn. I only recently learned of his passing. I'm so sorry. If Linda could kindly send me an email address, I'd love to send a personal note to her. Stephen Pevar, [email protected].

Poppy,

You were such a great grandfather to me. I will always remember you.

If not for my brother in law Stephen Hamburger I am sure I would be dead and buried during the last 4 years. I have had 4 life threatening surgeries in the last few years, all surgeries done in the middle of the night. Stephen stepped in each of those times and dealt with the surgeons and hospitals for my husband and I. He took control of my care and subsequent long recoveries. We were very grateful. Stephen and I had a relationship unknown to many but Inalways loved him and we always had I...

I worked with Dr. Hamburger at Hospital Hill in Kansas City. What a wonderful person! He always put a smile on my face, especially when he called me 'Toxic' as he was walking toward my office!

My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time. He was a awesome person who will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to know him,

Dr. Hamburger, Sue Blake, Jan Sealock, and others. TMC, Dept of Medicine, 1984.

My mother, Sue Blake, had the honor of being Dr. Hamburger's secretary at TMC for 10 years. We, her daughters, agree with your beautiful words that his untimely death is a life interrupted. Dr. Hamburger gave so much good to the world as a whole and had so much good left to give to each of his family members as individuals. My mother was a recipient of his good throughout their time together at TMC. He treated her so well, and she, him; they shared a mutual regard for each other. Mom...

Steve, gave me my first opportunity in medical education. That job has led to a rewarding and fulfilling career. I can never thank Steve enough for his mentorship and leadership.

Steve will remain a cherished best friend. I am blessed to have known him these past 3 years. I loved him dearly.
