Not sure what to say?

One of our most happy last memories was meeting up with Steve at a Palm Springs Gallery where he was being featured. We knew him through my sister, Mary Ann, who owned Weems Gallery in Albuquerque. His friend, who was the coach of the Bryan Bros Tennis players was with him. After his showing, the four of us went across the street to an outdoor cafe and had dinner and shared fun stories. Steve was a kind, humble immense talent, gone too soon.

After purchasing 17 works of art by Steve Hanks over the last 35 years or so, I think I can truly say I love his artwork. Be it women, children, people together as families and his backgrounds, as a watercolor artist I think I am right when I say Steve was truly the best and the best period. I can't believe the detail, the expressions, the emotions, on faces, the shadows, whatever, I love buying art but I've never seen a watercolor artist be this good. I love his pictures and I want to thank...

My family dearly misses Mr. Hanks. My husband & I have 9 of his masterpieces, a daughter has 2, hoping to add even more to her collection. We talk about him often, his creations `take us to the ocean´ where we grew up. Thank you for giving us such beauty

I was sharing a memory about Steve with my grandson-in-law. He was a great story teller about his own life...I remember how when he was a kid they lived near some open land which had a pond. He and some other kids decided to go wading and quickly decided it had crabs in it because their feet felt like they were being bitten. He was laughing because he was acting out the event - yelling "crabs, crabs" which turned out to be broken glass. We all miss him.

Mr. Hanks's artistry is a big part of our home. To date we have 10 of his exquisite paintings. Imagine what Mr. Hanks will do up in heaven? Perhaps make heaven look even better than could be imagined! We are still loyal fans (8/18) and will continue to add beauty to our home. God Bless You, Mr. Hanks, we thank you.

Just learned, very belatedly, of Steve's death and was greatly saddened as I love his art. I had the opportunity to meet Steve many years ago at a Weems Art Fest and had occasion to purchase a few of Steve's works directly from him through his former wife when they were still together. The world has lost a great talent.

My sister and I loved his artwork. We cherish many of his pieces and even visited Albuquerque on one of our "sister trips" together. We decided to just drive by your house on our visit and Laura, you were outside and invited us in to see his studio. You were so kind to do that and we were thrilled! We purchased several prints and a lithograph. My sister passed away in April also. My love to you and your family. He will be missed and thank you for the sweetest of memories for me.

My heart is broken....I got to meet him once and it was such a great moment for me.I loved his art and it inspired me so much in my own work. I truly feel he was the greatest "emotionally realistic" artist of my time and I treasure the books, art prints and photos that I have of him as well. Blessings to the family in this difficult time. I will miss him.

I thought the world of Steve's work. I truly will miss viewing his work. A great loss my condolences to his family
