Stephen J. Hanus, 81, formerly of Hellertown, died March 2, 2025 at The Phoebe Home, Allentown. He was the husband of the late Carol A. (Windsor) Hanus for 55 years. Born in Fountain Hill, he was the son of the late Stephen and Irene (Horvath) Hanus. Stephen was a 1961 graduate of Bethlehem Catholic High School. He proudly served in the US Air Force from 1962 – 1968. He worked as a Class A Mechanic at the Visteon Division of Ford Motors, and had previously worked as a mechanic at Kraft Foods. Stephen was a member of the Harley Owners Group of Coopersburg, the Hellertown Sportsmen’s Association. He also owned and operated Custom Handguns for several years. Stephen enjoyed photography, camping and fishing. He was raised in the Roman Catholic Faith.
Stephen is survived by his son: Eric of Easton; sister: Linda Hanus of Schuylkill Haven, Niece: Kimberly (Jarrad) Gruber of Schuylkill Haven, Nephew David Graul of FL; Granddaughter: Molly Held of Jewett City, CT.
Stephen had requested his private Graveside Service at the Union Cemetery of Hellertown, 85 Main St. Hellertown. To share an expression of sympathy with his family, please visit www.heintzelmancares.com. Arrangements are by the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. Hellertown.
