Not sure what to say?

I was sad to hear of Mr. Hege's passing. My biggest regret is that I haven't spoken with him for more than 20 years... And if I could, I'd say thank you.

I can speak as a former student and player of Mr. Hege that he was truly a great man. The impact that he made on me with the willing sacrifice of his time and energy did not go unnoticed.

As a 5th grade student of his, I remember him playing 1-3 basketball with me and 2 other students many recesses. That time was...

Adam-

My condolences to you and your family on your dad's passing. I'll be keeping all of you in my thoughts.

Adam and family: I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Thinking of you at this time, Karen Long (Miss Morgan).

Mr. Hege was a phenomenal teacher who had a great impact on my life. I'm so proud to say that I had him as a teacher and I'm proud to credit him with instilling in me the dream to also become a teacher and change the lives of children. Thank you Mr. Hege!!!

Dear Carol--
I will never forget moving to a new state and beginning work as a speech therapist in a new school. Steve was one of the most welcoming of the teachers at West Perry and always had a friendly hello for me in my room at the top of the stairs. When my husband finished his residency and it was time to move on, he highly recommended Chambersburg as his former hometown, and my current one. He touched young and old alike, and we are all the better for having known him.

Carol, I am so sorry for your loss. Steve was a great guy and I knew I could always count on him for a big smile and an even bigger handshake at church. I will miss seeing him out at the lake, but we will surely see him soon again in heaven.

I was so saddened to hear of Steve's death. We were childhood friends and attended the same church. My deepest sympathy to Steve's family, especially his dear mother Margie. So many happy chilhood memories have surfaced since hearing this sad news. May God comfort all of you. With sympathy and prayers, Bill Lukehart, Mechanicsburg, Pa
