I am surprised and sorry to hear of Steve's passing. He and my Mom were Northside classmates and longtime friends, and he showed up for her in ways I'll always remember. When my Mom was on hospice this past summer, he made sure people knew how much their visits meant and helped bring friends by to see her. Those visits meant so much to her and to our family. Condolences to Steve's family. May he rest in peace. I knew Steve and his brother Stan from attending North Side High School. I became friends with Stan after high school . I really got to know Steve later in life by playing a lot of bridge with him, Jim Didier, and my brother-in-law. Those were fun contests. Steve was dedicated to his children and brothers and talked of them often.
