Not sure what to say?

Here it is, 2022. You've been gone 15 years and I still think of you at times. I remembered that you and Steve Staugitis were my two crushes in high school, though neither of you ever knew it. I believed in aiming high. I'm so glad you had a happy life. I used to fish with my father when I was a kid and loved it. I'm so sorry you had to suffer the pain of lung cancer. I know I will see you again in another time and place. My kidneys have failed and I am on hemodialysis, so it will soon...

I also graduated from Bayport, (1971) but I only met Steve in my freshman year at the opening season football game at UNC-Chapel Hill! He was a gentleman then, and I will always remember him that way! Kind smile, gentle demeanor, great loyal friend , and an AVID TarHeel fan, sailor, and fisherman!
Anne, you were a special lady to capture his heart and I know he will live on in yours for a lifetime!
My deepest condolences to Steve's family and to his friends during this time of loss. I...

Steve was in High School with me a year ahead but always nice to talk to and pleasant to be around, I'm so sorry to hear of his passing, my deepest sympathy to his family and will keep all in my Prayers.

My deepest sympathy to Steve's family and friends. May your memories of his full life bring you comfort in this difficult time.

Steve was a classmate (1968), friend and close neighbor on McConnell Ave. How sad to hear that he has passed...I will remember him a someone who always had a smile and a hello for all of us. God speed, Steve!

I attended James Wilson Young High School in Bayport, NY with Steve & we both graduated in 1968. I didn't know him well then & didn't see him again until our 1998 pre-reunion Happy Hour. What a pleasant surprise; he looked great & it was fun to catch up with him. In spite of my repeated urging, I couldn't get him to attend the larger event the next day. He said he wanted to fish instead! Now that I've read his "seafaring" profile, I understand why. He was a class act and I feel...

I remember Steve from James Wilson Young high school. We graduated the same year. We did not travel in the same circle, but he was always very nice to me. I recall that he was really into sports, and was good at what he did. In fact, I think he was on just about every sports team except for baseball. Anyway, little did I know that he lived only a few miles away from me in NJ for more than 20 years. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family at this time.
