Elaine, I just learned the very sad news of Steve's passing. We go back so many decades and I remember so distinctly you meeting Steve back in our U of O days. I was always impressed by his incredible initiative with his work and how he made you smile. Flash forward to 2008, when I was searching for an estate attorney, and that is when I began working with Steve in his professional setting. Again I was nothing but highly impressed by his skills. I worked at SSY&W in the mid-80s, and had the absolute pleasure of meeting Steve and working in the same office. Though I worked for different attorneys, it was impossible to not hear the laughter and cheerfulness that naturally oozed out of Steve. He made the workplace bright with his smile and his ability (and willingness) to greet all the employees with cheer, as though each one of us mattered to him.
