Not sure what to say?

I was thinking of Dr. Kapan today even before receiving a prompt to add to the messages on the anniversary of his death. This morning I finished listening to the book _Chatter_, by Ethan Kross. Kross devotes a good deal of time discussing the work that Steve and Rachel did on the beneficial influence of nature-even photographs of it-on human experiences of well being. It was good to be in Steve's "presence" again.

I had the privilege to spend some time with him at the University of Michigan. His work was and of great inspiration to me. It is really sad a Man who gave so much to the scientific community is no more with us. Lucky me, I have a loot of good memories of him. Rest in peace, dear Steve. Rita and Marco

I took Psychology of Perception (lecture and lab) from Steve Kaplan in the early '60s. I found him to be a brilliant, patient, and inspiring teacher who seemed genuinely interested in his students. I'm so sorry to know that he is gone.

The thesis also helped me to win the 1968 W. B. Pillsbury Prize, the departments top...

I was one of Professor Kaplan's students between 1997-2002. My background is nursing but his theoretical work inspired me a lot.

I had the honor of learning from Professor Kaplan in the 1970s when I was a student in the then-new Computer and Communication Sciences Department. It was a forward looking department and Steve was one of the most forward-looking professors in the field.
