Dear Sondra,
My deepest sympathy of the loss of Stephen. There is a song out that states"It is not what you take when you leave this world, it's what you leave behind." What a legacy! I will truely miss him. Warmest regards,
Andrew Augustine

Elisa and David: I've been working away from Kabul for a few weeks, without email. I just returned and was so sad to learn of Dr. Koff's passing. Please know that although I'm halfway around the world, my thoughts are still with you. Distance doesn't change the friendship that Elisa and I have enjoyed for so long - and separation in time and place will never change Elisa's love for her father. Memories survive thankfully. My condolences.

Sondra: Please accept our sincerest sympathy. Unfortunately we have been away and could not respond sooner.. We hope to see you soon.

Steve was an inspirational teacher, a great scholar and a wonderful human being. His enthusiasm for life and learning and understanding of life was contagious. When I worked at University College with adult students, he would regularly call me with new ideas on how to involve adult students and to make their educational experiences more meaningful. It was indeed a privilege to know him. Our sincerest condolences to you Sondra and your children. He will be missed by all.

Dear Sandy and Family,
Dan and I were saddened to hear about Steve. It has been quite a while since we have seen you, but have tried to keep up with your travels and news of the children through mutual friends. We trust that a lifetime of memories and the good thoughts of friends and family will sustain you during this trying time.
Sincerely,
Laura and Dan Feldman

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Dear Mrs. Koff and family:

I was saddened to read this morning of Dr. Koff's death. He was a great influence upon my arrival at the Maxwell School in 1984, and continued to be a strong mentoring force for me as I worked through my degree program in International Relations. He will be sorely missed by his former students and colleagues. I remember too, the kindness and warmth your family showed in having me and other students over for thanksgiving dinners back then, knowing that...
