Not sure what to say?

Here it is Oct. 7th, 2024, the 1st anniversary of the Hamas attack on Israelis, and I happened to check on how my dear old friend & PSU prof, Steve Kosokoff was, only to discover he'd died just last June! It made me even more disappointed that he hadn't been at our May 11, 2022 PSU Plaque Ceremony in the Park Blocks to observe the 52 anniversary he'd played such an important and historic role in during our Student Strike. RIP, Steve.....

Steve and I served on the National Steering Committee of the US-China Peoples Friendship Association in the 1970s, and I retain fond memories of get togethers in Portland and elsewhere. Rest in peace, old friend!

During my time as a PSU Vietnam War protest organizer I worked with and learned greatly from Steve. He and I both agreed and disagreed on many thanks but I admired him as much as anyone I've ever known. I'm sorry that we lost touch with each other over the many past years and wish I could have said goodbye to him. RIP, Steve.....

I never took a speech communication/rhetoric course from Steve, but I paid attention to his advice while I was editing the Portland State Vanguard in 1969-70. A realist during a controversial time in higher education, Steve taught me to value the importance of treating the most serious events with sardonic grace. I also valued his nose for news, especially for his reporting tips about faculty governance issues at Portland State. Mostly, though, Steve was a model as I spun out my own academic...

We played pickup basketball in the early 1970s. Steve wasn't very good, but he played with passion, joy, and kindness ... just as he lived his life. A good man.

RIP, Steve. You were a great inspiration.

Condolences to Jeff, Matt, Jasper, Ezra, Terry and all his extended family and loved ones. I'm so sorry for your loss.

A good guy by any name

I was born on Steve´s 4th birthday. He wanted a baseball bat, but got me instead. He was indeed one of the best, and will be sorely missed.
