Stephen J. Krachun

Stephen J. Krachun, 59, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Somerville and a former resident of Raritan, he resided in Somerville for 29 years. Mr. Krachun worked for Somerset County for 36 years and retired on January 1, 2012 as their Director of Facilities and Services. Stephen was a member of the Cornerstone Christian Church in Stockton, where he also served as Deacon. Stephen was a former Chief and member of Relief Hose Company #2 in Raritan; he was very active with the fire company and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Francis and Helen Gall Krachun. Surviving are his loving wife of 32 years, Wendy J. Emmons Krachun; his beloved daughter, Pamela Krachun; his brother, Francis E. Krachun, Jr. and his wife, Camille of Raritan; his sister, Barbara Durr of Knoxville, TN; and several nieces and nephews. A Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 10:30 AM at Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876 (908) 526-7638. Interment will following in New Cemetery in Somerville. Viewing hours will be held on Monday, July 30, 2012 from 5 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
