I remember in junior high walking in the Laiche kitchen with Jimmy and Stephen was blending some healthy drink concoction with a raw egg and he loudly stated "This will make your hair grow!" Today, I look into the mirror. I should have listened. Rest In Peace wise friend.

Stephen Laiche, truly a good friend of mine. First met him from the cycling community here on the western slope. Along with Nordic skiing on the Grand Mesa. Always a pleasure to talk to. Steve nicknamed me "Brains." We worked across the hall from each other when I was with United Way. I had the honor and privilege to watch his journey for over 30 years. He would help me through many family challenges, without charging me a cent. With Terry, my daughter and me, truly heaven sent. I witnessed him swell with pride, when all of his children were born. He is, and will always be, one of a kind! I will forever miss you Steve. Thank you for always believing in me. Brains

I met Steve when he moved to Colorado from Louisiana. He was a deputy attorney general in Louisiana. He started in Grand Junction at the Mesa County District Attorney´s office - he did good work. His private practice was highly regarded for quality work. Steve and I worked on many cases together as co-counsel. We became friends over the years and helped each other with legal and personal matters. He was a special help when I went through a rough personal time, always available, always candid,...
