Stephen James Lau

Steve was a good man and a good friend. There were many good times, whether crossing Redwood Creek in the middle of the winter to check out progress on the new Redwood National Park... or traveling to Fresno to see Bob Dylan in concert... or sharing a men´s group for many years. Steve is deeply missed.

It´s been more than 40 years since Steve and I shared a series of houses. Yet, I won´t forget his passions to which I was privy: for time out in the natural world, for wildflowers and domesticated cats, for friends, for children, and for The Kinks and The Who! I can still hear him singing along (LOUDLY) with his stereo and banging the rhythms on the kitchen cabinets when it was his turn to wash dishes. I am grateful for the ways that Steve enriched our world.
