Condolences to the family of my beloved friend Dr. Leapman. I was his transplant dietitian for 17 years. We developed nutritional care protocols for kidney, pancreas and liver transplant patients together. He invited me to teach his students and bring my students to the OR to observe organ transplantation. He always made me feel like an important part of the team. He helped my son with medical school. Dr. Leapman was a friend, colleague and mentor at IUSM. I valued his leadership on the Admissions Committee and greatly enjoyed spending time with his wife and daughter on their visit to Kenya in 2005. He will be dearly missed.
