Not sure what to say?

I was sad to hear about Steve. I worked for him as a bartender and server at Bulas Pub and Eatery. Such a heartfelt man. I remember staying at his rental house and a few of the kiwi’s from Americas cup stayed there too. So many good times. He served elk chili at our Bulas Christmas party. Two of the band members from Kingston Trio came to Bulas sometimes and Steve took me to one of their concerts. He was an incredible boss, landlord and friend.

Miss seeing you riding your bike around Coronado! Rip, Steve!

Steve was a very good friend! His mother Catherine and I used to have breakfast at Bula´s on Sundays. I took her to see the ocean on her wheel chair when she mentioned she hadn´t seen it in years. Steve bought a van to be able to take Catherine everywhere. Steve and his girlfriend then, invited me to see the Chargers play and after that we joined the players at a bar in Mission Valley. They all were very happy to see him. Steve was well liked by everybody. He never forgot a wonderful...

So sad to hear the news of Steve´s passing. He was such a great friend to so many Kiwi´s who enjoyed many fun times at Bula´s and the Bay Beach Cafe. Steve always had a good yarn about his travels and the people he met, whether than was Foxy from the BVI or Jimmy Buffet....everyone liked Steve. He was a great ambassador for Coronado. Fair winds and smooth sailing Steve.

Oh, Captain Steve! Fair winds and fair seas on your next adventures! You leave Coronado as an icon, known for your generosity and kind spirit. You were an amazing ambassador to our New Zealand America's Cup sailors, taking the entire team under your wings of hospitality and friendship. For any event involving our kiwi visitors, you were quick to throw in Bula's as a venue as well as kegs of free beer. Locally, you quietly honoured your mother's legacy by making certain that single mothers...

So very sorry to hear of Steve´s passing. I have many fond memories of Steve. I remember that one year I had no place to stay and he offered a room at his Shores Condo. In the morning, I was doing my yoga in his living room and his Dear Mom showed up and was shocked to see me! RIP, Steve. My Deepest Sympathy. Sheila Hildreth Heyn Corzine CHS 1960
