Not sure what to say?

Steve was my role model and good friend at Hennessy funeral home.I will miss him forever!

Mary, my deepest sympathy losing Steve and am sorry I missed his celebration of life. It was a pleasure and a honor working with Steve at Hennessey's where he was fondly know as "The Lube". Steve was a jokester and enjoyed making people laugh, he was also very good at it. My prayers and thoughts are with you, God Bless and keep safe. Vickie Ratzlaff

I will always remember Steve taking me around to all the cemeteries to find where I wanted to have Sunny buried. I was really struggling and fighting the tears. Steve realized that and decided to lighten the mood. He said, “What do you think? Do you think Sunny would want to be over there with all the party people? You know they stay up late and are so noisy. Or, do you think she would like to be by Mr. Knight. He’s very quiet and never bothers anyone.” It was just what I needed. I burst...

My condolences to Steve's family. May you have memories to turn to for comfort.

I have so many memories of Steve, going back more than 50 years, it is hard to sort through them all. I think that what I will remember the most about him are his love of Priest Lake, his love of his family, and his gentle self-effacing sense of humor and fun. All three qualities were in evidence the last time Diane and I saw him. We were at Millie’s last summer and ran into Steve and Mary. He talked with love about his children and his joy that they were still so much in his life and...

When I was 5 years old, I walked down to the Luby Bay Resort (Timm’s) where there was a little candy store. When I came out, there was another kid on the steps, coming up. I asked him his name and he replied “Luby.” I said, “You can’t be Luby, I’m Luby.” It turned out this other kid was my cousin, Steve. From then on, we fished for suckers off the docks, went to the beach movies at Hills, water skied together, and generally gallivanted around the lake. Through it all, I began to think of him...

To Mary and family,

I was sadden to learn of Steve’s passing. I worked with him for many years and always enjoyed our time serving the families we had the privilege caring for in our community. I have enjoyed his Facebook posts and listening to his experiences at Priest Lake, Luby Bay, a place he truly cherished.

May you find comfort and assurance in He, who gave His life, so that we can all live again.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.
