I worked with Dr. Macintyre for many years at MetroHealth Medical Center in Arthritis Clinic. He was a kind and caring physician who always wanted the best for his patients. He will be missed. My sympathy and prayers for his family.

Sincerely,
Gayle Eble, Occupational Therapist

Steve was an extraordinary guy. He was my colleague in the Rheumatology division at MetroHealth for many years. An excellent physician, an extraordinary scientist, with high ethical standards. We missed him sorely when he left Metro. The world is a poorer place.

Steve and I were reminiscing just a couple of months ago about the years he was in high school and I was in college. On summer evenings after work we would head to Forest Hills public tennis courts as a doubles team. This was, as Steve put it - so you could pick up guys. True enough. He was the most considerate and nicest brother anyone could have. We will miss him.

With little fanfare, Steve was an accomplished individual in many ways. He was an award-winning high school baseball player, a skilled wood-working craftsman who designed and constructed his own furniture, a self-taught auto mechanic who built his own car engine, a tenor in an acclaimed Cleveland men’s chorus, a fine cook, a nature photographer, and a nationally funded and published medical researcher - all in addition to being beloved by his may patients during 3 decades of medical practice....

Rest in peace, Steve. It was an honor and a pleasure to work for you.

Barbara and I were saddened to learn of Steve’s passing. I have many great childhood memories of the Shaker Road gang which Steve was a part of. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of the family.
