First and foremost Steve was a friend. We met many years ago while working at Emerson, Nichols & Bailey in Irving TX. After many years working together we lost touch and I recently found out about his passing. This news truly saddened me. Steve was generous, friendly, family-loving and had a great sense of humor. My belated condolences to the Massey family. Steve will be greatly missed.

My family and I met Steve through his philanthropic work and was delighted to make his acquaintance. Steve and Denise were like a part of our family They went to church with us and had dinner with us and we always kept in touch. Steve will be greatly missed because of his great personality and his sense of caring and concern for all mankind. He worked so closely with the Direct descendants of Africa and made many contributions to our cause. He was very innovative and talented and shared...

Steve was a dynamic individual. His talent and creativity was obvious, but he always had time to help others. He often talked about Joyce, and how much she meant to him. We had SO many fun times, from going to the ACC tournament together, to going to New Orleans and enjoying some great restaurants. He knew so many people, all over the country.
I will miss him greatly. He was a super guy, but more than that, he was my friend. Joyce, I am so sorry. And let me say how proud he was of...

Steve was such a wonderful friend. We miss his smile terribly. He made our lives so much fun in the short time that we were lucky enough to know him. He loved you Mrs. Joyce and Taylor more than anything. You are in our hearts and thoughts.

Aunt Joyce,
I am so saddened by Steve's passing! I have such fun memories of the times in Florida. I still have $10 he gave me in 1987 for finding his sunglasses in the ocean. I never spent it because of a comment he made to me and I probably never will. Prayers to you. Love you
