Not sure what to say?

I am sorry to just learn today that Dr Mathis had passed. My kids had been patients of his got over 20 years. I became a patient also. We made jokes and riddles that relaxed the kids when they were small. We was such in demand. I often said they needed to clone him. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this first year. He has been missed since he went out on leave. Sincerely, Laurie, Thomas & Rebecca Gavel

Lynette and family, I am sorry for losing Steve so young. He was a "gentle giant" as a caring individual. We were gross anatomy partners and LFC'ers. Would love to hear from you if possible. [email protected]

I was so sorry to hear about Dr. Mathias's death. In 2011, a few days before the huge October/Halloween snowstorm, he performed eye muscle surgery on my left eye. Because I was having a very difficult time, he graciously offered to meet me on Friday morning even though he was supposed to go on a camping trip that day. Dr. Mathias was kind, sensitive, caring, and compassionate - a consummate professional. My family and I send our condolences to his family and friends. Penny Kessler

So very sorry to hear of your loss. So young and so giving! May he RIP and God give you peace.

I am so sorry to hear of DR Mathias's passing. He was so kind to my son who was patient of his for many years. My son had some pretty tough eye condition and now sees well and is glasses free due to his talents. He will be remembered fondly by our family.

I am so sorry to hear of his passing. He was a wonderful doctor who helped both my son and my husband. Both had unique issues that he was able to successfully address. My deepest condolences to his family.

A good person and excellent doctor. He will be missed.

My sincere sympathy to the family . my son was his patient at 18 months old he had glaucoma which is rare in babies. He did 3 sucessful surgeries and saved his vision I will always be grateful for that. Rest In Peace dr Mathias.

Dr. Mathias was one of those one in a million doctors. He went out of his way to keep everyone smiling during the visits but he also made sure everyone I´m doing the kids understood what he was talking about. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. What a loss.
