Has it been a year already? Steve's memory is still fresh in my mind and he will never be forgotten. The photo of Steve in his obituary is EXACTLY how I remember him. Some say he was a quiet man but the Steve Nelson I knew had a belly laugh that shook the ground he stood on. ALWAYS a smile and a good friendly word from my good friend. A life well lived, he was universally loved by all and will always continue to be missed by everyone who knew him.

Debi and family I am so sorry for your loss. Empty words but it comes from the heart. I knew Steve from High School and many years at the Post Office. A better friend no man ever had. We worked together, played ball and stayed in touch after retirement. Except Steve never did retire. He loved the job so much he kept on doing what he loved until, after 52 years of service, Jesus took him home. The list of people who loved him is too long, but suffice it to say he WILL BE MISSED! I've known Steve for over 20 years as our mailman in downtown Kalamazoo. He was a quiet gentle soul of a man. Our office has 2 cats, and one named Felix could always put a smile on Steve's face. Felix loved to greet Steve every day and Steve always gave Felix a few pets on the head. Steve was a terrific mailman and he will be missed very much. My condolences to his wife and family. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
