It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Stephen J. Paragon of Brantingham, NY who unexpectedly died on August 12, 2024.  


 


Stephen leaves surviving him his children, Cadence M. Paragon and Bailee S. Paragon, his mother, Ruthann Rockwood, father, John A. Paragon and his brother Patrick J. Paragon.  He is also survived by his maternal grandfather, Wesley S. Rockwood and his paternal grandmother, Charlene A. Backus as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, all of whom were better for having known him and loved him.


 


Stephen was born February 1, 1985, in Watertown, NY.  He was educated in local schools and graduated from South Lewis Central School.


 


Upon graduation, Stephen entered the building trades in which he became very successful.  He founded Paragon Construction and for many years was engaged in the construction of homes, businesses and other structures.  He was a serial entrepreneur and founded businesses including a laundromat, convenience store, firewood sales, lumber sales and AirBnB Rentals.


 


Stephen was very intelligent with an amazing sense of humor that won him many friends and made him the life of the party at any gathering.


 


Stephen was a true son of the North Country, an avid hunter, loved the woods, loved his work, loved his children and loved his family.


 


There will be a private funeral for family.  A celebration of Stephen’s life will be held Friday, August 23, 2024, at the Lowville Elks Lodge, Lowville, NY, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm.  Please come enjoy a drink and some food and share your favorite memories of Stephen.
