Steve was a friend of our family and especially of our daughter. He brought her some good books.

I am saddened to hear of Steve's passing. I worked along side of Steve at Louisiana Tech University. He was hard working, pleasant, and a good colleague. My condolences to the family. Dr. Bill Deese

I met Steve through a Facebook Christian group. He was friendly, intelligent, and deeply caring; always willing to discuss and helpful to me and others. I really enjoyed our times of interaction and I’m very sad to hear of his passing. But, I’m looking forward to seeing him again in heaven!

I met this wonderful soul through our Christian Facebook groups. I treasure his memory as a brilliant, kind son of God.

I always loved his talks on Matthew 5:13 which reminded us we are “the salt of the earth.” Steve was just that. Whenever I salt my food, I think of him. Not joking.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Dr. Patton’s family. He regularly spoke very highly of his family and upbringing in Michigan.

I was able to get to know Dr. Patton throughout my time developing and conducting a chemistry research project with him (about 6 months). Our family had great times with Steve in our home sorry that he’s left us

Stephen was an amazing gentle man. He and my late friend Bill McNaughton, taught classes together at one time and Bill introduced me to Stephen in 2017 at Spring Arbor college. He gave me advice on the importance of some healthful supplements that have seemed to keep me in pretty good health for my age of 85, since I started them. He drove up from Missouri to take me to Bill's memorial service when he passed away from an auto accident, and wouldn't let me pay for the gas. He was a kind...
