Stephen V. Pietras, age 94, of Highland, IN, formerly a longtime resident of Dolton, IL, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 6, 2024.  Loving husband of the late Balbine “Belle” Pietras, nee Kaminski.  Devoted father of Sharon (Edward) Brosius, and Michael Pietras.  Proud grandpa of Jennifer (Jason) Wilkerson; great-grandpa of Kendall, Asher, and Roselyn Belle Wilkerson.  Dear brother of the late Lottie (late Sam) Hrapcak, Stanley (late Jean) Pietras, Anne (late George) Milkowski, and Casmira (late Lou) Frankiewicz.  Cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by his parents Louis and Mary Pietras.

Stephen enlisted in the Coast Guard where he served as an electrician.  He owned his own TV store “Steve’s TV” in Hegewisch, where he repaired console and picture tube TV sets.  He sold the store and went to work for US Steel where he worked the rest of his career until his retirement.  He then worked odd jobs as a starter at multiple golf courses in the area and at McCormick Place Hotel in downtown Chicago.  He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #330 in Calumet City, IL.  His life passions were golf and bowling.  Stephen was loved by his family, and friends, and will be dearly missed.
