Not sure what to say?

Professor Pollack was my mentor back in the 80s at UofM IOE. His guidance and trust in me helped shape my life and career. He was an incredible man that impacted the development of hundreds if not thousands of students. Rest in peace professor, you will be greatly missed.

Very sorry to read about Steve's passing in the materials for our upcoming (11 Dec 25) College of Engineering at U of M Ann Arbor. I knew and worked with Steve from the first day I arrived at U of M for my faculty interview, on June 1, 1982, where Steve was the 'external faculty representative" on behalf of the College of Eng. When I moved and started my career at UM in Fall 1982, I continued to cooperate with him, teaching his IOE460 Decision Analysis course twice, in 1983 and 1987, when he...

Tina, Josh, Aaron, Ethan, and family - I´m so sorry to hear of Steve´s passing. He was one of the most wonderful persons I´ve met. He took me under his wings when I joined UofM in my 40´s and mentored me when I became dept chair of statistics three years later. He mentored countless junior faculty, always spending time with them at lunch and anytime they had questions. He was a wonderful scholar. He didn´t necessarily focus on publishing papers as much as working on hard problems and...

Steve was a terrific colleague in the College of Engineering, always positive and wanting to do right by students. My condolences to his family. He´ll be missed.

I remember Dr. Pollack well as one of the beloved Profs at University of Michigan IOE dept back in the late 1980s/early 1990s. He was a gentleman and a scholar. Rest in Peace sir!!

I was a student in Dr. Pollack's Operations research class in the early 1970's. He was an inspiring teacher and his lessons stayed with me throughout my career.

Mike and I send our sympathy to Tina and family on the loss of a fine man with a dry sense of humor. He touched many lives through his career and will be missed. I am so glad we had a chance to see Steve shortly before his passing. He still had his wonderful smile.

Sorrow and condolences to Tina, Aaron, Josh, Ethan, and all the grandkids. I have gratitude for the time I got to know Steve, and I will always remember him fondly. May his memory be a blessing.
