I wish I had been born with Steve's sense of adventure. His entire life was filled with it. He was good to and for my sister and niece and to all around him. Honesty was his hallmark and generosity his standard. Joyce and I and our children and grand children will always have the great memories of our time with you.

Miss you big guy. We had some good times over the years. I really enjoyed our last visit and your beautiful home.

Steve was a great Alaskan,it was my pleasure to work with him.

While in college I got to do an independent study through him. I got to ride in the station wagon and fly with him. I enjoyed the experience and learned a lot from him. (back in 1971)
One time we were flying over a large herd of caribou that was spread out near Denali National Park. He asked if I saw the caribou to the east. "Nope, I said." He made a sharp bank to the left and went down lower. I filled two canvas gloves I had on my lap.
