O'Neill Funeral Home - Cumberland Obituary

Stephen A. Rich, 61, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, September 13, 2025. He is survived by his loving wife Carol (Hickerson) Beauchamp-Rich. They had been married for 16 years. Born in Lemoore, CA, he was the son of the late Olive (Prue) Rich and James E. Rich Jr.


Besides his wife, he is survived by his brother Michael Rich and his wife Colleen of Greenville, his sister Debbie Rich and her companion AD DaLuz of Pawtucket, his best friend Earl Curtin and his wife Christine of West Warwick, his sister in-law Cheryl Doucette and her husband Ken of Cumberland, his mother in law Laura Nainteau, his sisters in law Linda, Betty, Janet, his brother in law Kenny and his wife Lizette, many nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces and great-nephews. He was the brother of the late James E. Rich III.


Stephen was an avid New England Patriots fan. He always loved going for rides on his motorcycle. Stephen loved to get to the beach or out on vacation in New Hampshire. He was devoted to his family and friends. He will forever miss his beloved friend, Titus, his German Shepherd.


Stephen worked as a truck driver for FedEx Freight for many years.


Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Funeral Service on Sunday, September 21, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the O’Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Visitation will take place, prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:00 PM in the O’Neill Funeral Home. 


Burial will be private.

I worked with Steve at Major Electric. He was always willing to go the extra mile to help take care of customers. He was friendly with everyone and was an asset to the company and to friends. He was definitely one of the good guys!
