MY FRIEND.THE EARTH MISSES YOU

I grew up next door to the Sass family and was very fond of Mr. Sass. I used to watch him behind St. Nicholas working his bees and was truly fascinated by them. I was too shy to ask him to tell me about them. I drove by the other day and took some photos of where he used to have them. I'm heartbroken to see the old church in the state it is in as Steve cared for that building alone for more than two decades. Rachel, I'm so sorry for your loss, you have my deepest condolences.

Steve, Jim McIntyre and I were intensively involved in presenting formal legal opposition to a Nuclear Regulatory Commission license to operate the Perry Nuclear Power Plant in 1981-82. Steve's knowledge on the subject was encyclopedic. His love of family extended to protection of people and the earth from the poisons of nuclear power.
