Grace, Stephanie & Family -
Just heard the news, and my heart goes out to you. I have so many fond memories of time spent with you, and of enjoying Steve's performances. "Man, it's a hot one!" He always felt like a brother to me, looking out for me, and it was kind of him to make a music tape for me when he knew it would be a nice surprise. It was truly impossible to be sad around him! Much love to you.

Steve was a great guy whom we have known since Plant Jr. High. Although it has been a long time since we've seen him, we have thought of him often. We are very sorry to hear of his passing. May the love of friends and family carry you through this difficult time.

Dear Grace and family,
I, like so many others, am shocked and saddened by the news of Steve's sudden passing. I was just informed this morning and couldn't believe it. May the love of your family and friends embrace you and give you strength knowing that Steve is now watching and guiding you and your daughter. His star will brightly shine in the heavens above. May God bless you and your family and guide you through this difficult time. Patti Clinch Kozikowski

Hello Grace,
My sister just informed me of Steve's passing and I want to say how sorry I am. He was a tremendous bass player and musician and after many years of not being in contact with him, I had the pleasure of seeing him play with Oreo at Grumpies in Plainville recently. They were terrific and Steve really shined. I am in shock as he looked fine when I saw him then.
I have fond memories of him from when he came to my house in West Hartford to play..and when he lived with...

Dear Grace & Family:
I didn't know Steve well, but as a work colleague of Steve's drummer, Joe, and a bassist in a local cover band myself, I had the pleasure to see Steve play a number of times, both with "Last Licks" and also with "Diamondback", with we shared a bill in the Summer of '08 and Steve was filling in on bass. Steve was an AMAZING bassist, a really nice guy (we talked a bit mainly about our equipment as bass-players tend to do) and I can only tell you that I was awed by...

Dear Ed and Priscilla
Herb informed me of Stephen's passing. I'm sure your feelings are very much like mine when I lost my Michael. It's great that you have his daughter, Stephanie.
I have a strong memory of Stephen performing with his rock band many years ago. You told me to bring some cotton to put in my ears. We had a good laugh over the noise in our aging ears. I think we were the only "old folks" in the crowd. I know your other three children are a great comfort to you. ...

To Grace, Stephanie, Edwin and Priscilla, Jerilyn and Donald, Cynthia and Stuart, Michael and Lori, the entire Powers and Shore families, extended family, and friends, fans and bandmates.
In Judiasm, the number 8 holds particular significance. Many major holidays last 8 days. Many other examples exist, but I decided to wait 8 days after his passing before posting my own remembrance and tribute to Steve, because of the more-than-coincidental beauty and appropriateness in the simple...
