Pleasant Hills Memorial Park & Mortuary - Sebastopol Obituary

Stephen Edward Silvestrich died unexpectedly on April 16, 2024 at his home in Sebastopol at the age of 51. He was the beloved husband of Kristen Silvestrich for 25 years.

Born in Santa Rosa, California, he was the son of Gail and Edward Silvestrich. He attended El Molino High School and Santa Rosa Junior College, where he earned his Associate in Arts (AA) degree, and, later, his paramedic license. After being employed in the fire service with various agencies since his teen years, he started working for the San Francisco Fire Department in August 2002, first as a Firefighter Paramedic, then as Lieutenant in October 2021. The majority of his career was spent at Engine 03.

Steve actively participated in his kids’ extracurricular activities, such as being a Sebastopol Little League baseball coach, Den Leader for his sons’ Cub Scout packs, and Project Leader for Independence 4-H. If he had any free time, he also enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, surfing, and spending time with loved ones. He will be remembered for his humility, selflessness, and bravery, along with his unwavering devotion to family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Kristen and children, Ethan, Ella, Aidan, and Abigail. He was predeceased by his dad.

The memorial service will be held at 1100 on April 24, 2024 at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts, located at 50 Mark West Springs Road, Santa Rosa, CA 95403.

Not sure what to say?

As part of the Sebastopol Ballet School family, my heart goes out to Ella and your family for the sudden loss of your father. I hope you feel the love and support that is coming to you from everyone who knows you.

My deepest condolences to the Silvestrich family on Stephen's passing.

Steve was a great mentor, coach and friend. When someone loves and respects your kids for no reason at all, it is really special. Steve was such a special guy always willing to help out at the little league fields he had his hands full but never let that stop him from getting things done.
We we so lucky to have time with him at school, little league fields and boy scouts.
The Carreras family is sending Kristen, Ethan, Ella, Aidan, Abigail, and all his family and friends nothing but...

Steve was a gentleman, a great fireman, and a great officer. Every day I worked with him we had a better day because of him. Competent, humble, and very hard working. He epitomized the character of Station 3. Rest in Peace brother, gone way too soon.
