Not sure what to say?

God bless his soul and may he Rest In Peace. He was an amazing man who loved teaching the children in Wilmington. He guided me as I started my art program here and we shared many of the same students who always told me how much they loved his class. A true inspiration and he is missed.

God Bless his sweet soul.

Sending love & comfort to Rachel, the entire Surles Family & Stephen's dear friends.

Rest in peace Stephen! Prayers for sweet Rachel and children. God bless you all!

We have been closed friends since we were 16, Im sorry for the families lost.
Im praying for the family, I know a brother has entered !

My loved ones and I pray for the Surles family. I did not have the privilege of meeting Mr. Stephen Surles, though I often heard of him from his wife, Mrs. Rachel Surles, who is my beloved teacher, friend, and guide. Through spending time alongside Mrs. Surles, I learned of how loving Mr. Surles was as husband to her, and as a father to their two children, as they were loving to him. His strength, his life, and above all, his love for the ones who he loved will forever endure. May peace be...

Coach, Joey and I miss you already. We love you. Thanks for being a friend...more like a brother.

What a terrible shock to hear that Stephen had passed away! It is a tragic loss for his father Michael, his wife Rachel, and his little, angelic son and daughter, Henry and Ruby. I am praying for the family.
I remember Stephen from his college days at Warren Wilson College in Swannanoa, N.C. and later as a masterful coach and co-owner of the "Stretch-n-Grow" business in Wilmington, N.C. Stephen was a very warm, spirited, and patient young man. He touched many youngsters as...

Before I ever met I was told what a great guy he was. As my husband and I got to know him through our son Jess we also thought he was great. He truly was a man who loved his family. Our hearts are very sad for you Rachel.
