Stephen Thompson, 23, was killed Friday when he suffered a gunshot wound while in Iraq. Thompson grew up in Tulsa and was a 2004 graduate of Memorial High School.

Every time I pass the house where you grew up, I can almost see you, your brothers and my youngest sons Drew and Rhett playing in the front yard. We have some fun memories of having you in our home. Thank you for the surprise calls after you joined the military. We were thrilled to hear from you.
