Not sure what to say?

I just heard from a mutual friend about Steve's passing. I knew him through our shared passion for the radio business, but we became much more than "business friends." We only saw each other once or twice a year, but I will always remember our dinners together, whether in Las Vegas at a convention, or in California near his brother's home. Steve was a wonderful friend, a great and generous broadcaster, and one of the gentlest, nicest people I've ever known. I miss him.

Dear Irene Trivers, I am a friend and classmate of Steve and I have wonderful memories of him. He always "showed up" for me on tours and readings. Always helped and supported me. He was the most loyal of friends. I know how hard it must be for you. I lost my wife 3 years ago and it still hurts. My best to you, Danny Klein, H '61

Steve was a great guy. He had a smile on his face perpetually. I enjoyed getting to know him. To the family, you have my deepest sympathies.

Fond memories of Steve at soccer fields when our daughters played together.

I possessed none of these tenets as a 19-year-old Michigan State student who lucked upon a job replacing the respected Ken Lanphear as the play-by-play voice of Kalamazoo College men's basketball on Fairfield Broadcasting. I met Mr. Trivers in the student section at...

A true gentleman and proper New Englander, Steve was one of my favorite people in Kalamazoo. Always full of suggestions in a helpful way and happy to assist whenever possible. One of Kalamazoo's great leaders, I will miss our lunches together, you will be missed my friend.

Single Memorial Tree

As a member of the Harvard College Class of '58, I did not overlap with Triv in college. I did, however, serve with him for many years on the Board of Trustees of the Harvard Radio Broadcasting Company, Inc., which held the license for commercial station WHRB (FM), which served the Boston Bay area. Triv would come a day early for semi-annual board meetings in order to instruct the undergraduates on station management and sales.
