I had the pleasure and honor of having Dr. Urban serve as my Family Medicine preceptor as a third year medical student. He is a large part of the reason I decided to pursue Family Medicine and also to serve as a clinical preceptor for medical students (I like him, am now faculty with UNTHSC-TCOM). Additionally he served as a great mentor for me both professionally and personally. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. He will be missed but certainly not forgotten.

Dr Steve Urban was my colleague and friend and friend for many years at TCOM. He taught 1000s of medial students over the years by his daily example on what it means to be a healer. i often saw him and Susan at mass at either Saint Patrick's or Saint Peter's. I did not have an opportunity to know the rest of his family but did hear through his conversations about them of his pride and love for them.
He was a blessing to all of us.

For close to 50 yrs, from intern at Cranston General Hospital to my partner and life long friend,we traveled the road. We shared so many adventures and challenges. Dr Steve was always reliable, resourceful, concerned about our patients. His faith supported his focus and willingness to serve.
He will join his beloved wife Sue.
He has been called from his labors and earned a special place.
Julie,Stephen,Jennifer, he was so proud of you. You could not have done more to ease his going...

In memory of my dear cousin Steve, a good and holy man. May you find comfort that he was greeted in Heaven by Sue, his mother and father (my beloved Aunt Irene and Uncle Steve), and his brother Jim. The rest of the McGunn clan were there to welcome him as well, Grandma and Grandpa McGunn, my father and mother (John and Tillie McGunn), Uncle Clyde and Uncle James, and his cousins Dennis and Nancy. Age and distance hindered me in knowing Steve well, but I knew I could call him when my mother...
