I was a shipmate to Steve onboard the USS Sacramento AOE-1 from 1964-66. Steve could see the humor in everything. He was always in good spirits. We worked together, went on Liberty together and I loved him like a brother. I was discharged in 66 and in 1969 I called him from Maine and went to see him in NC. He decided to go to Texas with me and we went to my parents house in Alvin, Tx. My father got him a job with the TEXAS dept of Corrections in 69 and I lost track of him after that. ...

I'll never forget the time when I was just a little girl and my uncle gave me a fox fur with the head still on it. You tricked me into trading my fur to you for a couple of nickels and some bubble gum. You were a teenager at the time. I always thought you got a good deal.
