My condolences to Mary and the entire family. Steve was always so kind and patient with me. He was generous with his time and resources. He was instrumental in helping my family and me grow in the life of the Spirit. I regret leaving the SotL Community to this day. I often wonder where our family would be like if we had stayed. I will request a Mass be offered for the repose of Steve's soul in the very near future at my parish. Once again, my sympathies to Mary, family, and everyone...

Mr. VanderPloeg always made you feel your plans, activities and dreams were important when he talked to you as a neighbor kid. He made it clear YOU were important. Reminded me of how I´d imagine Jesus talking if he lived across the street and cleaned his sidewalk and driveway with a hose each night.

Steve was my night shift assistant foreman for years at Steelcase. He did such a beautiful job and operated with such integrity. I´m so sorry for your loss , he was a wonderful Christian man. I loved working with him he was like a brother to me. May God bless you all during this sad time I loved him for the beautiful person he was. Bob
