One of my best friends is gone. We didn’t have much contact in past years, but the few times we did talk or see each other, were as if we were still in high school. I really admired Steve for his honesty, witt, and craftsmanship. My world is a little emptier now. I wish I could have have told him that he was a great man and friend.

The loss of Steve has touched so many, yet none with the depth his family has felt.
Steves work in wood will last a good long while, but not as long as the goodwill he spread.
A gentlemen indeed.

Ever since I purchased my first Weiner pipe, I have always had and will always have a deep respect for this and also for the highest standard of his craftsmanship. Steve will be missed by many many pipe smokers, literally from all over the...

It was indeed a pleasure to have known Steve as he was always energetic and enthused about pipes and pipemaking, the latter being something he was very good at. It saddens me to think of his wife and family as well as the pipe collector community doing without him. Talk to God and take comfort in his Word.

I would like to express my deepest condolences. I only knew Steve from the craftsmanship evidenced in the two pipes that he made for me. But those two works of art say quite alot about him. The world has always needed artisans of his quality and will miss him.

Sincere condolences. The pipe world has lost a great artisan and artist, gone from us much, much too soon.
