Not sure what to say?

My sincere condolences to the family. Stephen was insured with my office while in Logan. A couple of years ago I wrote him a letter in which I said, for some time I have wanted to compliment you on your friendly, non-condescending attitude in dealing with our office. Our girls in the office sometimes were treated poorly but they always spoke well of you. I was pleased to let them know of you positions with the Church and Marriott. Thank you for living the life you have taught others. I...

It is with great sorrow that I hear of the passing of Elder Stephen A. West. I was a counselor in a Stake Presidency in the early 2000s when Elder West visited our Stake. I have very fond memories of the day and a half we spent with him. To his dear wife, children and grandchildren I can assure you that he was a man of utmost competence, kindness and entirely without ego in all his dealings. May God bless Elder Stephen A. West always and you who now go on without him.

Dear Martha and family. A friend in Salt Lake has told me that Steve died. We send you our deepest sympathy. From East High to the Chevy Chase Ward, over many years, we have wonderful memories of his delightful. personality. It was sheer pleasure to have known him. Our thoughts are with you, Yvonne Dixon

Uncle Steve was so much fun - he always had a smile and a kind word. He could REALLY tell some great jokes. His example of Christian living was just amazing. I love the West family and am so thankful to be related to them and to share so many family memories. I will never forget his wonderful talk in General Conference. His example lives on and I am so thankful we will see him again.
Fondly, Anne Christensen Jacobson

Sorry to hear the passing of President West. I really enjoyed having him as my mission President. One of the blessings that we have in the church, that I'm grateful for is that we can see our beloved family again in the next life. What an eternal principle we have.

Steve West -- Attorney, Matchmaker, Mentor, Friend

Dear Martha, Allan, Page, and Adam,

Annena and I are sorry we are not able to attend the funeral in person, but our thoughts are very much with you as we reminisced about Steve's influence in our lives from Annena's teen years through a good portion of our married life.

Here are some of the roles Steve played in my life, for which Annena and I are grateful:

Attorney. In 1973 my apartment complex went condo. Not...

Martha and Family

The world has lost one of its best. Steve always made everyone around him better in many ways.

In the many weeks that we traveled and worked together on the sale of the Marriott restaurants I learned so much from him about how to be a better lawyer, businessman and person.

He was one who stood up for values even at personal cost. He made others want to respect values as well.

Steve loved the gospel and lived the concept of helping others. ...
