Not sure what to say?

Barbara and girls: Such a good man has left us! Steve and I had many a conversation over the past decade or so, always revolving around our children, their lives, their sports, their goals. He was truly a dedicated and passionate dad. I will always remember the WWP girls basketball championships about five years ago when one of the girls on our team had a spectacular game in the finals. After the game, Steve ran up to me to ask who #5 was and where her parents were. He then proceeded to...

Steve will be greatly missed but what he taught my children about living well and working hard toward a goal will always be with us. Surprisingly it took Steve about a year to discover a fellow classmate from Lewis had moved into town. He just showed up on my driveway one weekend and the next year he had my daughter Rachel playing on his soccer team. As Brooke and Rachel advanced together in sports and school Steve was infinitely generous with his time and experience to help not just my...

Prior to retirement, I sat about 50 feet from Steve. I knew him well throughout his career at the PA. I was deeply saddened by this news and pray for your peace and comfort. I was a Principal Architect at the Gateway Center in Newark!

Dear Barbara,

Please accept my deepest condolences for Steve who will always be remembered by his Port Authority colleagues, like myself, as being someone who could tell one heck of a story especially about how his girls were the best athletes and young ladies all around. His face beamed with pride as he spoke about Samantha, Stefanie, and Brooke. He often demonstrated birdcalls that he said his girls and their friends enjoyed while growing up.

Once Steve learned that I also...

Dear Barbara and the girls, We knew Steve when we lived in West Windsor. Our daughters Kristen and Megan went to school with your girls. Steve would always ask about them, and lovingly share about his girls, of whom he was obviously so proud. What an absolute shock! You are in our thoughts and prayers. Michael and Ozana Castellano (Robbinsville)

Dear Barbara, Samantha, Stefanie and Brooke:

While I have never met any of you, I have known Steve since he joined the Port Authority and wish to express my deepest sympathy for your sudden loss of such a special loved one. Steve was a very special person who cared for his co-workers and associates and enjoyed talking about his wonderful family whenever he had the chance. He brought tremendous enthusiasm to his work and was never stymied by any technical challenge as an engineer. We...

Dear Barbara, Samantha, Stefanie and Brooke:

I am so sorry for your loss of your husband and father. It is with this I offer my saddest and deepest sympathies. I was shocked to hear of the news as I had just spoke with Steve. He was one of the first people I met when I started in 1999 and he made me feel so welcome. He was intelligent beyond words and also brought many, many laughs. He spoke of all of you often and that is what gave him his greatest joy in life. Words cannot...

The Manhattan College alumni community shares your grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself … any man’s death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.

Many a day I rode the train with Steve and he always spoke of his family with love and admiration. He was truly proud of you all.

He was a caring man who was always willing to help out others. Whether through his many volunteer efforts or his offering of information/advice to others, he touched peoples lives and will be missed.
