I want to extend my sincerest sympathy to you, and let you know that my prayers are with you.
I am one of Steve's many former graduate students who thought so much of him as a scholar, teacher, mentor, and friend. His challenging me got me through graduate school though he never gave me any answers. He always told me if I was or was not asking the right questions! I am sorry that I don't know you. My memories of Steve are from days when we were all much younger and many cousins played together in Kansas at the farm of our grandparents. Those memories will never disappear. Steve was one of my older cousins and I understand from his family and many friends that he became a wonderful man. My sympathies are with you in your loss and I am certain that Steve is now happy and pain free in heaven.
