Not sure what to say?

Steve was a good friend that I met at Fourth Presbyterian Church 20-30 yr ago. We remained friends over the years and went to a Rolling Stones concert (8/2/94) that was memorable to me since Steve's idea of casual dress was a blazer and khakis. When I teased him about being too dressed up for a rock concert, he propped up his (dress) shoes on the seat in the back of the limo and the driver scolded him! I thought that was hysterical since Steve was the least likely person to get scolded in...

I know it's been almost 4 years since he passed, but I only just found out (through LinkedIn). I met Steve years ago, on a political junket, and we were fast friends...we kept in touch via email (I now know why he stopped responding!), and he always encouraged me to follow my dreams. My life is a little darker today. My deepest, albeit delayed, sympathies to Steve's family.

Oh wow I am so shocked to hear Mr. Yelverton passed. He didn't have any health problems and he wasn't that old. Seems many are surprised. He tried to reach out to me as a friend and advocated for me - if it weren't for him I would have NEVER considered doing fashion modeling and only did so reluctantly and used it to Further Causes I believe in from my Professional career working in the Legal industry and a Public Relations professional. I am without words as I am shocked he suddenly...

Although I never met Steve in person he was my attorney since 1988. I will miss him very much. Condolences to his family.

I was surprised when I saw the Facebook posting about Steve. He was our attorney when I was with the broadcast ministry of Toccoa Falls College. He was such an asset in helping us expand our radio ministry, and proved to be a good friend and a man of integrity. I had talked to him, just a few months ago, by phone. I was hoping to talk with him again soon.

We just learned of Steve's death and are greatly saddened by it. Steve was a member of our beach house in Rehoboth, Delaware in the early 1990s. He will be remembered by all as a very bright talented person who was kind, fun, and full of life. Our deepest sympathy to his sisters, other family members, and friends.

Steve and I were friends for more than 30 years. We played "telephone tag" recently and when we did talk, we spent 2 hours on the phone "catching up." I left him a voice mail a week ago and thought we were just playing "telephone tag" again... I'm shocked and saddened to hear of his sudden passing. He was a good friend and I can't believe he's gone... See you in Heaven, Steve. Tim Dodson (Bethesda, Md.)

I was so sorry to hear that my former roommate and friend passed away. Steve was with me when I met my wife 38 years ago in Bethesda, MD. May God give comfort to his family.
