Not sure what to say?

Sterling and I were close friends during our years at BYU and for a few years afterwards, but because of time and distance we lost track of each other. I'm so saddened to learn of his passing. He is one of the greatest people I've ever know. Even though we lost touch as time passed I consider him an eternal friend. He was funny, competitive, smart, and had a very kind heart, always trying to make anyone who he perceived as needing some attention smile. We had such great times playing...

Sterling! Even as you passed on, You are still bigger than life itself. Always a smile to make the worst day better. I still think of you often and the effect that you had in my life as a Teenager. We may not have been family per se; we shared the same last name. However, you treated me as family, kind and loving. I know that you are sharing that Same Love and kindness with that HUGE Smile where you are now. Peace Brother! You are Missed!

I just found this! I was thinking about the Elder who baptized me back in Lawton, Oklahoma. I am so sorry to hear about his passing! He was a very nice person and I was glad to have met him. Even though it is many years since he has went home to our Father in heaven it was a shock. May you find peace of mind knowing that you will see him again

beautiful man....a great loss

Our condolences to the family. Did not know him personally, but heard he was a good man.

A man of many words, great smile and a very positive attitude. I was fortunate to have met Sterling when he delivered mail on the U of U campus. He always made sure to ask how you were doing, he had a very caring heart. Thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

I was one of the lucky ones to have worked at the Post Office with Sterling. Sterling was very nice and out going. Always had a terrific smile. He will be missed.

cult to find words in a time of loss, heavy hearts of grief and over whelming pain as we give our last earthly respects to a Wonderful man whom touched everyones lives with his zest for life, charm, funny and out going personality with Great love of the Gospel.
No one knows when its time to go home, till that time arrives and what is beyond the veil is another life, another adventure.
We ALL will miss Sterling! Yet....Sterling is making all the angels in Heaven laughand singing.

Sharon and I have such happy and pleasant memories of Sterling. I was fortunate to be his bishop a fews years ago. We had many meaningful conversations about life and life's purpose. Sterling always uplifted us. We know he is at peace. Randy and Sharon Harmsen
