Working with Sterling was an important time in my life. Sterling is still alive for me. Jim Karantonis

To the family of Sterling Smith. I was so shocked to learn of Sterling´s passing, even more since it had been about three years. My heart went out to Doris when she told me. I had not known Sterling for many years but he definitely was the man that was described in the obituary above. God bless his family, he was a wonderful man.

Just saw this news. I was fortunate to work with Sterling over 40 years ago. We were at the WV Human Rights Commission. I can't recall the project but I do remember him. It doesn't surprise me that he continued to do good works throughout his life.

I am saddened to learn of the transition of a man for whom I have always had great respect. In the more than 40 years that I have known Sterling Smith, he was always a man of quiet strength, great dignity, and a gentle spirit. My prayers are for his family and all who loved him.

My condolences to Sterling's family. He was a good man who will be missed.

Always a gentleman. Those who live good lives and create great memories never really die . Sterling was such a person and all who knew him can always look back and smile.

Sorry to hear of Sterling's passing. He helped me so much at DHHR. Great man.

May the family of Sterling fine Peace and Comfort in these times knowing that he is now on duty with the Lord in heaven. His love for his fellow man was incredible and memories of him will live in our hearts and minds... forever. Rest in Peace my brother.

Sincerely I send my condolences to Sterling's family.
He was a true friend on and off the court and field at GBHS. God bless Sterling.
