Not sure what to say?

Ms. Marlene, Louie, Karen, and Lauren,

I just learned of Mr. Sterling's passing and to say the least was deeply saddened by the news. I have such fond memories of time I spent with your family and have always had a great deal of respect for all of you. I remeber fondly the trip to Alabama when LSU beat The Bear, nights spent at your house making pizza and playing the computer, and of course, going to LSU games in Tiger Stadium. I think about you all often and will keep you all in my...

You have been in our prayers. We love you.

MARLENE, KAREN, LOUIE & LAUREN
WHERE DO I START? I HAVE WAITED TILL NOW CAUSE I DIDN'T THINK I COULD GET THROUGH THIS. I HAVE TRIED BY PRAYING BEFORE AND AFTER STERLING WENT TO SEE GOD AND TIGER STADIUM NORTH BUT I GUESS THINGS MUST GO ON. STERLING WAS SUCH A GOOD FRIEND (YOU GUYS TOO OF COURSE) THAT ANYTHING LSU JUST DOESN'T SEEM TO HAVE THE SAME OOMPH AS IT DID WHEN WE WOULD SPEAK. ESPECIALLY WHEN IT CAME TO "TOOLAME" BASEBALL OR RABBI BERTMAN THE JEWISH AD. I KNOW YOU HAVE MANY...

Marlene, we were so sorry to hear of Sterling's passing. Our hearts and prayers are with you and your family. Sterling was such a wonderful guy. He always sent us emails and we enjoyed keeping in touch. Of course, the first time we met Sterling was through LSU Baseball. Back when Prodigy was the about the only internet access, our daughter, Sheree, would post the baseball game results after each game. So many LSU fans nationwide would read her updates and send messages. Sterling...

Marlene, my heartfelt condolences go out to you and the family. Sterling was a good man and well respected by the marine industry. There were customers that would not do business with anyone else but Sterling. I know, we tried (unsuccessfully) to "steal" a couple of his customers back "in the day". The respect his customers had for him is a credit to his honesty and loyalty and to always do what was right in business and in life.
I used to love visiting the repair group he was part of at...

Mrs. Maude & Mr. Sterling,
I was so sorry to hear about your loss. My mother just told me, and on behalf of the whole LaRose family, I'd like to extend my deepest sympathies to you and your family.

Dear Marlene and Family,

We met through LSU baseball, and although we did not see you or the kids often, we did see Sterling when he would come to visit in section D. But, my fondest memories of Sterling were the frequent e-mails he would send keeping us abreast of LSU sports. As for my favorite Sterling story, it was when my sister-in-law and her husband were moving to Metairie last year and I asked him if he knew of the best neighborhoods and/or realtors to check there. He sent us...

Marlene and family- My memories of Sterling are one of family- his immediate family and how he enjoyed them whenever they were together @ LSU football and baseball games, and his extended family that I was honored to be part of at LSU events. He created love and respect, that was indeed contagious. Marlene has asked we post "Sterling stories" so here goes. The week after Hurricane Katrina, I needed to borrow a truck to go buy mattresses. Sterling and I were both in B.R. and staying near...

Dear
Marlene, Louie, Karen, Lauren, Buzz and Maude,
Words cannot express how
I feel. I have lost a friend and fellow Tiger. If I have to pick out one
thing to write about, it would be the how we expanded LSU's academic recruiting
in New Orleans. What started out as simple home receptions, evolved into
full fledged receptions with invitations to all prospective students from
New Orleans. Millie Guichard was a part of this idea as well, but it was
Sterling who...
