Steve Becker

Time passes, but I still think of a father's love that Walt had for Steve, and then onto the next generation for "the horse" as he loved to call his grandson. That was a good example for me to follow as a dad and grandpa.

Steve was my hero as a junior high boy. I wanted to play football, basketball, and run track like he did. I replaced Walt as the Lynnville-Sully track coach, and I always enjoyed talking with Steve at the state track meet. He genuinely cared about people and his hometown and school.

I enjoyed my 26 years of sharing students, schedules, and sometimes gym space in Luana and Monona with Steve. My condolences go out to Geri, Jana, Derrick, and the rest of Steve's family.
