My name is David "Hak" Hakojarvi. Steve and I were shipmates on Wm. H. Standley DLG-32, many years ago. I am very sad to learn of Steve's passing. My sincere condolences to you all. I lost touch with Steve when we left the Navy but I always hoped we would connect someday. Hearing he had a strong faith assures me we will.

I love you and miss you dearly!

Steve was a great man who genuinely cared for his friends and family. He clearly loved the Lord, and it was evident in his character. There is great comfort in knowing we will see him again.

Steve was a wonderful man.He spoke about the love for his family every day .We spent a lot of time together the last two and a half years.He had a wonderful sense of humor and had a great positive outlook on life.He spoke about his love for his Church and loved being involved in it.He felt blessed to have been able to have the life he had with his son,Steve,Mistie,and his granddaughters.He always referred to them as Peanut and Bear to me.He loved all of his family and let you know it.I will...

Steve Harrell was a great person and one I loved very much. He always like to make you laugh and loved his family very much. He will be truly missed.
