Not sure what to say?

I attended Calvary Chapel of South Bay from April 1982-March 1985 while stationed at Los Angeles Air Force Station. When I first started to attend, I was going through a very troubled time in my life. I always enjoyed Pastor Steve's messages, sometimes concluded with self-effacing illustrations. With his walrus moustache, you could mistake him for a softie. But sometimes when you caught his steely eyed look, you knew he had the heart of a shepherd that would take on wolves trying to fleece...

I use to listen to him on the way to and from school. He taught me so much and I related to him. Thank you. God bless you.

The first time I came to Calvert Chapel South Bay. It was in Carson. I felt so welcome. Pastor Steve was so welcoming and friendly to me. He treated me as a friend. It was that Christ like love that keep me coming. His death was so unexpected and I just could not stop crying for a long time. I know he' s in a better place with no more pain.

I a so sorry to hear about the passing of Pastor Steve. I would listen to his sermons fro California on the radio every weekend. I lived in San Bernardino and worked at Riverside. His messages were always from the heart and real. He would speak to you as if you were sitting across from him having coffee. He will be greatly missed. Thank you, Pastor Steve , for everything that you have done in spreading the word of our precious Lord and challenging us to get closer to him with that personal,...

I miss you Steve. You were a great pastor that taught me a lot. Though I know you won't be coming back. I will see you again someday in Heaven. Thanks for being such a wonderful pastor.

Pastor Steve was a great mentor, we will always remember him, since he did the service when we re-newed our vows on our 25th wedding anniversary, we were fortunate and blessed that we had that honor. We will miss your teachings. May Gail & family find comfort in our Savior!

11 years ago I made a decision to leave the South Bay and move to Micronesia. I had a shoebox filled with Pastor Steve's sermons on cassette tapes and I listened to his messages every night my first years away. Even though I am heartbroken that my kids will never get a chance to meet Pastor Steve, I am so very grateful to have had him as a teacher for all these years. As for my family, we will serve the Lord (Joshua 24:15). My deepest condolences to Gail, their children, and grandchildren. I...
